About Fuzhou
Have you heard about Chinese cities being terribly polluted? Whilst that is true for some places, it's certainly not the case in Fuzhou. Fuzhou has been consistently ranked as one of the greenest and least polluted major cities in the whole of China.
This vibrant provincial capital, with a population of 7 million people, is surround in almost every direction by lush green, jungle covered, mountains. It's also just a short drive away from the coast. If hiking in mountains and swimming in waterfalls is not your thing, then no problem. Fuzhou has numerous cafes, bars, cinemas, shopping malls and traditional Chinese nightlife such as delicious street food and karaoke clubs.
Fuzhou is a city with one foot in old China and one foot in new China. Ancient temples and Qing Dynasty era settlements give way to huge plate glass skyscrapers covered in neon lights. The city is the home to both world leading innovative online companies and traditional art forms such as Fuzhounese opera.
